Terms & Conditions

On making any booking by post, phone, fax or e-mail you are confirming acceptance of our terms and conditions without query, question or alteration. As such the terms and conditions will be binding in a court of law (England and Wales)

1. Reservations

Your room is reserved up to 1pm on the arrival date. You must guarantee your reservation at the time of booking. All non-guaranteed rooms will be released three days prior to arrival.

You can only guarantee your room by giving your credit card or debit card details at the time of booking or by paying for your room in full when you make the reservation up to three days prior to arrival. Payment can be made by accepted credit or debit cards. The Old Barn Inn must receive all cheques at least five (5) working days before the arrival date. The Old Barn Inn regrets that late or dishonoured cheque's will immediately mean that the room or rooms will be released to other interested parties.

2. Payment

At The Old Barn Inn you pay for your room on arrival.

The Old Barn Inn accepts payment in cash, cheque (with a valid cheque guarantee card), credit card (Visa and Mastercard), debit cards (Visa and Mastercard) and American Express.

Customers paying by cash are required to provide identification on check-in.
Acceptable forms of ID are: photo driving licence, ID card, passport, police warrant card and/or utility bill/bank statement clarifying your residential address.

3. Room Prices

Room prices are per room, per night and are inclusive of VAT (at whatever the current rate is at the time of booking)

Unless breakfast is included in your room price, all meals with be an additional cost. However there are packages available which include dinner, bed and breakfast. Please ask at the time of booking. You may pay for breakfast or evening meal at the same time as paying for your room. If this is not the case, then all meals must be paid for separately.

The Old Barn Inn reserves the right to review its room prices from time to time. If you make a reservation more than one month in advance, the quoted room price may change before the date of your stay at the Inn.

Although we shall endeavour to inform you before any price increase, we reserve the right to charge the room price on the arrival date. At that time you may cancel the reservation without charge.

4. Cancellations

The Old Barn Inn has a strict cancellation policy.

If you cancel a guaranteed room after 12pm on the day before the arrival date, you will be charged for the full amount of the accommodation per room booked.

If you decide to shorten your stay for whatever reason, you must inform us by 12pm on the day. Failure to do so will mean that you will be charged the cost of one night’s accommodation per room booked.

5. Arrival and Departure

Rooms are available from 3pm on the arrival date.

Please telephone ahead if you are likely to arrive after 11pm in the evening.

Your room must be vacated at the latest by 11am on the day of departure. Failure to do so will incur additional charges up to and including the cost of one night’s accommodation.

6. Group Bookings

If you wish to make reservations for 5 (five) rooms or more, our reservation policy applys, You can only guarantee your room by giving your credit card or debit card details at the time of booking or by paying for your room in full when you make the reservation

7. Special Requirements

We have interconnecting rooms available for families. Cots (for children under 2 (two) are available) as are child beds.

The Old Barn Inn has two rooms which are specially adapted for customers with disabilities. One room also connects to an adjacent room for clients with a ‘carer’. Furthermore, if you are less able or have difficulty walking, you may request a standard room on the ground floor.

In accordance with the ‘no-smoking’ legislation, The Old Barn Inn is a smoke free premises. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within any building. We take this very seriously and failure to adhere to this no smoking policy will result in an additional charge of £100 being made to your final bill and we may ask you to vacate the premises. If you wish to smoke you must use the designated external area.

The Old Barn Inn will make every possible effort to accommodate your personal requirements. All rooms are subject to availability. We apologise in advance if your particular requests cannot be met.

8. Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the restaurant between 7.30am and 10am (weekdays) and 8am and 10.30am at weekends and on Bank Holidays.

9. Bar and Restaurant

Meals are available at the bar or in the restaurant. Please ask to see our menus and clarify serving times at reception.

10. Damages and Breakages

Please note that all damages and breakages will be charged for at cost up to a maximum of £1,000. Room inspections are carried out after every departure to review any damage, breakage or theft.

The Old Barn Inn reserves the right without notice to make an immediate charge to credit or debit card details given previously in recovering their costs for any damage, breakage or theft. Confirmation of such actions will be confirmed in writing to the customer within 5 working days. If deemed necessary the relevant authorities will be informed and we reserve the right to pursue legal action for the full recovery of all other costs.

Whilst The Old Barn Inn has its own security system and cameras, we will not be held responsible for any damage to any vehicle parked on our premises or any other personal belongings that are damaged or stolen during your stay.

The Old Barn Inn will not tolerate any lewd or drunken behaviour and reserves the right to ask you to immediately leave the premises and/or vacate your room.

The Old Barn Inn operates a strict no smoking policy. External provision is made for smokers with a dedicated smoking zone. Failure to use this area will result in an additional charge of £100 being made. Please consider other people when smoking.

11. Further Information

We sincerely regret that, with the exception of assistance dogs, no pets are allowed in The Old Barn Inn.

Electrical appliances such as toasters, mini cookers or portable grills may not be used in the rooms as they will set off the very sensitive fire alarm system.

Reservations for rooms are non-transferable and must not under any circumstances be sold or otherwise transferred to any third party who is not a member of your original group. Similarly you must not advertise, market or sell any offer of The Old Barn Inn's rooms, either on its own or part of a combined promotional offer.

Our prices include VAT based on the amount at time of booking. This may or may not change in the future, dependant on UK Government legislation. All prices and details are correct at the beginning of last month, but may be subject to change without notice. When booking please ask for current details on vat.
